T71/1606: letter dated 18/01/1836 from Charles Beckford Long, 5 Terrace Worthing stating £33979 11s 8d plus interest of £149 8s 1d, less stamp duty of £1 5s 0d has been adjudged and paid; 'it has becme necessary to make a private division of the amount according to Lists A, B & C which I subjoin'; the lists are of 112 , 90 and 26 enslaved persons, divided by sex and class, with an appraised value; his query is to whether the Commissioners can give him the equitable apportionment of compensation.
