T71/873: claim from William Heath, of St James, as owner-in-fee. Benjamin Scott Moncrieff counterclaimed as judgement creditor for £515 17 1/12d, denied by William Heath.
Jamaica Almanac (1828): Spring Mount estate registered to William Heath, with 217 enslaved persons. C.E. Bernard and W.E. Bernard were attorneys for William Heath.
T71/1608: letter, dated 10/09/1835, from Robert Hodgson, North Allerton, attempting to intervene. Robert Hodgson's brother had died in Jamaica; the executors had sold the slaves but then died without payment being made. Asks if payment can be stopped, as 60 negroes are part of the claim made by William Heath on Spring Mount. Also cites Trelawny claim no. 422 and St Anns claim no. 266 (neither of which appears obviously connected).
