Caribbeana Vol. V p. 317: the will of Wm. Crooke describes him as 'late of the Island of St Chr. now of of Nottingham Place Marylebone'.
T71/879: counterclaims from Jonathan Morgan, Samuel Boddington and George Adams Davis, and Abrahm Grellet. Acknowledgement of Wm. Phipps Crooke and Milward Pickwood Crooke that the compensation is to be paid to William Gowan upon the trust mentioned in a deed dated 29/03/1834. William Gowan was appointed trustee under indre dated 29/03/1834 between (1) the claimants, (2) Samuel Boddington and George Adams Davis, (3) Philip Protheroe and John Savage, (4) Hon. Wm. Greatheed Crooke and (5) William Gowan. Samuel Boddington and George Adams Davis's claim was for £361 4s 7d. Richard Wilson Greatheed is described as of Nottingham Street, Marylebone, in a copy of an indenture between Greatheed and Samuel Boddington and George Adams Davis, of St Helens Place, dated 17/10/1831. William Gowan is described as of the Island of St Christopher in the deed of 29/03/1834, when the Crookes apparently pledged their compensation to him.
