The reference in Kathleen Mary Butler, The economics of Emancipation: Jamaica and Barbados 1823-1843 (Chapel Hill and London, University of North Carolina Press, 1995) pp. 81-2 to a debt of T. & J. Daniel on Kirton's (which the Daniels did not buy out of Chancery; instead it was sold by Chancery to a new private owner) appears to refer to Kirtons in St Philip.
