10th Aug 1840 | 103 Enslaved | £1729 16s 7d
Parliamentary Papers p. 315.
Parliamentary Papers show Virgin Islands claim nos. 231 and 232 combined in terms of compensation (given as total of £234 17s 9d) but separate in terms of numbers of enslaved persons. Neither number of enslaved persons ties to the compensation amount. T71/883: makes awards clear, and shows Matthew Richardson of Tortola as assignee of Burrows and Nottage, who were creditors of Ann Stobo and others, executed on 08/07/1830, and assigned on 11/07/1831.
Counterclaim also from Elizabeth Simpson of 1 Abbey Place [Regent's Park].
