Unsuccessful counterclaimed on Virgin Islands, when she was given as of 1 Abbey Place [Regent's Park]. She was identified as the daughter of Isaac Pickering and claiming under his will dated 1802 in the counterclaim for Virgin Islands claim no. 1. To date she has not been further traced: she was conceivably the wife and then widow of William Simpson of Tortola (q.v.), although marriage records for William Simpson and Elizabeth Pickering in 1803 in London do not show any information to confirm the couple were of Tortola.

Jamaican-born widow of a prominent slave-owner; resident in Britain following the death of her husband in 1818. Accused - and acquitted - of the cruel treatment of some enslaved people whom she brought to Britain with her.
