Biography
- Will of Isaac Pickering of Tortola [made in 1802] proved 29/03/1803. In the will he said he had an estate in St Croix that under Danish law was to be for the benefit of his children, and a sugar works in Tortola that he could dispose of. He wanted the former to go to is son John Arthur Hodge Pickering, and the latter to his daughter Elizabeth Pickering. In order to achieve this he instructed Elizabeth to assign her share in the St Croix property, and he placed in trust the Tortola plantation to raise two sums of £1500 and £5000 for other children. One of his trustees was Isaac Pickering of Fox Lease (q.v. under Isaac Pickering of Fox Lease, Lyndhurst).
