Notes

The Alps and Florence Hall were both owned by Charles Campbell 1817-1826. Florence Hall was repossessed by mortgagees but The Alps appears to have been retained as Charles Campbell owned it in right of his wife. Enslaved people on The Alps are identified as on Florence Hall in the compensation records; the estates may have been run as one concern even though the ownership arrangements were different.
