Associated People (6)

The dates listed below have different categories as denoted by the letters in the brackets following each date. Here is a key to explain those letter codes:

  • SD - Association Start Date
  • SY - Association Start Year
  • EA - Earliest Known Association
  • ED - Association End Date
  • EY - Association End Year
  • LA - Latest Known Association
14/01/1834 [SD] - → Executor
14/01/1834 [SD] - → Executrix
1771 [EA] - 1774 [LA] → Joint owner

This is a tentative identification only of the Robert Gordon co-owner of Glasgow with Robert Gordon Alderman of Bristol. Robert Gordon Alderman of Bristol is known to have co-owned other estates in St James with John Gordon until c. 1774, but his will is silent on an estate named Glasgow, and his co-owner John Gordon has not yet been identified with confidence.

1786 [EA] - 1786 [LA] → Owner

The early owners of the Glasgow estate have only been tentatively identified. 'John Gordon of Bristol' was shown in 1786, but the John Gordon of Bristol in the LBS database could not have been the same man as the John Gordon who was co-owner of Glasgow in 1771 [when LBS' John Gordon of Bristol was aged 13].

1796 [EA] - 14/01/1834 [ED] → Owner

The early owners of the Glasgow estate have only been tentatively identified. 'John Gordon of Bristol' was shown in 1786. LBS has tentatively concluded that the owner from 1796 was John Gordon of Wincombe Park rather than the John Gordon of Bristol in the LBS database. Neither could have been the same man as the John Gordon who was co-owner of Glasgow in 1771 [when LBS' John Gordon of Bristol was aged 13 and John Gordon of Wincombe Park was probably unborn].

1817 [EA] - 1832 [LA] → Attorney
