In his will of 1806, James Mitchell left an annuity of £1200 to his wife Martha, £20,000 each to his children James Henry Mitchell, Elizabeth Jemima Mitchell and Martha Amelia Mitchell and £10,000 to his youngest child William Mitchell with provision for a further £10,000 to his unborn child. Presumably this was charged upon Moreland Estate which was from 1817 registered to James Mitchell.
