Under deeds of 08 and 09/12/1808 Warner Ottley conveyed a mortgage over the Evesham Vale estate to Robert Lang and John Gilbert Francklyn, partners in Lang Turing. The indentures rehearsed an earlier agreement of 1807 whereby Warner Ottley and his wife on the one part and James Lacroix on the other as co-owners by inheritance had agreed that James Lacroix would buy out Warner Ottley's half-share of Evesham Vale and one other plot of land for £12,500, subject to two pre-existing mortgage of some £9500. £6000 of the purchase price was paid as mortgage from Lacroix to Ottley, on which Lacroix defaulted. Warner Ottley was separately indebted to Lang and Francklyn for £4521 14s 3d and to secure payment of this amount he conveyed the Lacroix mortgage [and the estate] to Lang and Francklyn.
