Inherited by John Tharp III and William Tharp, on the death of their father John Tharp I of Green Pond. By 1773, John Tharp III was "of St James, Jamaica" and William Tharp was "a minor in Great Britain", when an annuity was granted to their mother Ann Stevens (nee Harding, was Tharp) for 10 years in lieu of dower on Green Pond Estate in St James. A further bundle of letters in the Tharp papers relate to the claims of Ann Stevens on Green Pond Estate from 1773-1793.
