By an Indenture made 07/04/1772, Mary Smith of Golden Square spinster conveyed to Richard Oliver Alderman of London that plantation in the parish of St Mary's containing 122 acres, called Smith's, 'for docking and barring all estate tail or remainders in the plantations, lands, etc. and negros or slaves hereinafter mentioned, and for conveying the same to and for such uses.'
