Under an Act of 1804, the remaining Carib lands on St Vincent were forfeited, and Governor Henry William Bentinck allocated 5,262 acres to European settlers, including two separate parcels of 300 acres each to John Kean and Andrew Ross that became Turama [sic], Charles Shephard, An Historical Account of the Island of St Vincent(1831) Appendix No. XVI 'Apportionment of the Carib Lands, Granted in Occupancies by Governor Henry William Bentinck.'
