- 1792 [LA] → Owner

Under his will of which administration was granted in 1792 Edward Hunt left his estate named Ottley Hall on St Vincent in trust to be sold for the benefit of his sons.

Previous owner

Tentatively inferred by LBS to have been the 'Ingram' shown as the original purchaser of Lot No. 109 (126 acres) that became Ottley Hall.

1792 [EA] - → Heir

Co-beneficiary originally with his brothers Thomas Hunt of Oundle and Edward Hunt the younger of the trust established in the will of Edward Hunt of Oundle under which Ottley Hall was to be sold for their benefit. In a codicil the share of Thomas Hunt was redirected to his brother Edward.

1802 [EA] - 1802 [LA] → Assignee

Edward Austen appeared as assignee of the Ottley Hall estate (and enslaved people) on St Vincent after he had lent £5035 to John Petrie and Dugald Campbell in 1802.

EAP 688 St Vincent Deed Book 1812 pp. 60 et seq.

1802 [EA] - 1812 [LA] → Not known

John Petrie and Dugald Campbell assigned Ottley Hall to Edward Austen in 1802 to secure his loan to them of £5035; the capacity in which Petrie and Campbell acted is not clear but they were possibly assignees themselves or mortgagees in possession. In 1812 Petrie, Campbell and Robertson conveyed the estate William Hepburn for £500 upfront and a mortgage of some £4900: Hepburn assigned the estate in trust as security for his mortgage to John Browne of Lothbury.
