[Size] 140 According to Hughes-Queree, in 1819 Arthur Oughterson sold to Joseph Gittens Padmore’s plantation of 140 acres in St Philip. However, Gittens never completed the purchase and it was sold in the Chancery Court to Joseph Connell for £17,500 currency: 140 acres and 124 enslaved. The land and enslaved were appraised at the following values: land: £60 per acre, total £8,400; 124 enslaved: total £7,450; cattle: £225. Total: £16,075.
