The ODNB for Edward Strathearn Gordon Baron Gordon of Drumearn [in Perthshire, Scotland], shows on 07/08/1845 the marriage of Edward Strathearn Gordon to Agnes Joanna [1826-1895] only child of John McInnes of Auchenreoch Stirlingshire, and Auchnenfroe Dumbartonshire, 'a wealthy Grenada sugar planter.'
Will of John McInnes of Saint Patrick Island of Grenada proved 04/07/1835. Under the will he left an annuity of £20 p.a. to his mother-in-law Mrs Joanna Urquhart...'now residing at Cromarty', and other legacies to his wife's family, but the main heiress was his daughter Agnes Joanna. The death certificate of Agnes Joanna gives her parents as John McInnes and Isabella nee Urquhart.
