Widow of Philip Clarke, daughter of John Haughton James senior and sister of Philip Haughton James, John Haughton James junior and Dame Catherine Haughton Clarke (all of whom q.v.). Counterclaimed apparently unsuccessfully on King's Valley in Westmoreland, one of Sir Simon Haughton Clarke's former estates, under a a bond he had settled on her and her husband (who died c. 1830). She was shown as of Sidmouth Devon (where her brother Philip was living) in her counter-claim of c. 1834. Her father had settled £200 p.a. and £5000 after his death secured on Burnt Ground on her marriage in 1821.
Marriage of Caroline Haughton James (a minor) to Philip Clarke Esq., 24/07/1821 St George's Hanover; marriage of Caroline Haughton Clarke (daughter of John Haughton James) to Peregrine Taylor Bingley 20/10/1852 St James Paddington. Her first husband may have been the Philip Clarke, Captain in HM Regiment of Grenadiers and a Lieut-Colonel in the Army, whose will was proved 13/10/1830, the natural son of Sir Philip Haughton Clarke (q.v.).
Caroline Haughton Bingley of Boulevard des Italiens, Paris was buried at Kensal Green All Souls 23/01/1863 aged 57.
