???? - 24th Sep 1837
Resident slave-owner on Antigua, appearing also as attorney on the island for the Thomas family of Yapton and as trustee (e.g. for Joseph Darrell of Antigua in his will made 03/11/1815) but not further traced to date. It is possible that he was a member of the Billinghurst family of Yapton and that his connection with the Thomas family derived from this: Joseph Billinghurst of Yapton died on St Vincent in 1840.
Death "At the island of Antigua, on the 24th of September, much respected and deeply regretted, John Billinghurst, Esq."
Vere Langford Oliver, History of Antigua Vol. 3 p. 353.
