London merchant of 2 South Place Finsbury Square, awarded the compensation for the enslaved people on two estates in Hanover, one at least certainly as trustee, the other possibly as assignee or trustee also.
T71/872 Hanover nos. 31 and 68; David Grant and his co-awardee under Hanover no. 31, David Jamieson, were 2 of the 5 assignees of the bankrupt merchant John Armstrong of Fenchurch St in 1836, London Gazette, Issue 19383, 17/05/1836, p. 872. The two men also appear as trustees in Hanover no. 191.
