Biography

Mary Augusta Gray (nee Faveaux), widow of Charles Gordon Gray (who died Jamaica 1823) and daughter-in-law of Charles Gordon Gray (q.v., d. 1822), awarded part of the compensation for Virgin Valley in St James Jamaica, alongside many other family awardees. The date of her return from Jamaica is  not known.

In 1861, Mary Augusta Gray, widow aged 65 'fundholder', born Ampthill Bedforshire was living at Bush Hall Hatfield with her daughter Augusta F.E. aged 38 born Jamaica, two cousins and six servants. Will of Mary Augusta Gray, late of The Manor House Little Shelford Cambridgeshire who died 21/09/1870 proved 14/10/1870 by Augusta Frances Elizabeth Gray spinster the sole executrix effects £2000, resworn at the Stamp Office Feb 1871 £1500.
