London solicitor, awarded the compensation for the enslaved people on in St Dorothy Jamaica with others (including his partner Thomas Newman Farquhar) as trustees of the Bayley family (including Rev. W. H. Ricketts Bayley, q.v.).

T71/1606 letter dated 28/11/1837: we the undersigned, the Rev WHRicketts Bayley of Hasleton nr Bristol clerk one of the residuary devisees and also as executor..under last will & testament of Alexander Bayley esq , and as agent for the other parties under the claim and David Morrice [sic] Johnston and Thomas Newman Farquhar atties for the Rev Lewis Bowerbank of the Island of Jamaica a counterclaim....hereby request you to appt the following persons as trustees of the comp money to be held by them subject to any award that you may make thereon : David Morrice [sic] Johnston of New Broad St., Gentleman; Thomas Newman Farquhar of the same place Gent; Benjamin Adam of Savage Gardens Merchant; John Henry Nelson of same place.
