Biography

Wife of Robert Rainford, a free person of colour. Inherited Cassava River from Thomas William Powell (d. before 1792), also a free person of colour - presumably the daughter Frances Powell for whom the estate was held in trust in the 1790s by her mother Frances Brewer. Frances Powell had at least six children with Robert Rainford baptised in Jamaica between 1799 and 1817. Robert died c. 1824.
