Claimant or beneficiary

Biography

Almost certainly the Eliza Abell identified in the will of William Abell (q.v.) (made in 1830, when she was shown as of Alphington Devon) as his natural daughter, given that her claim for compensation (Manchester No. 297) was next to the claim (Manchester No. 298) for the Devon estate previously co-owned by William Abell.

  1. Eliza Abell, born 10/01/1808, "reputed daughter of Mr William Abell by Sarah White, a free mulatto", baptised in St Elizabeth, Jamaica, 03/08/1813.
