Claimant for compensation as one of the guardians of his niece, Elizabeth Jane Lambie (q.v.) although the award was made to the other guardian, Henry Lord Garrigues (q.v.). Nephew of Sir Alexander Crichton (q.v.).
Born 02/08/1802 in Edinburgh, the third son of Lt. Col. Patrick Crichton and his wife Margaret née Lambie. According to an account written by his brother Sir Archibald William Crichton in 1851, “Patrick Charles was bred a merchant, and after some years spent travelling in Europe, and in South America joined his brother-in-law William Lambie in Jamaica where he was for many years attorney of several large estates, he then established himself in London in the West India trade and finally upon the adoption of Lord John Rupert’s [sic, for Lord John Russell's] fatal bill in 1846 retired to his estate in Jamaica where he is now residing.”
Patrick’s sister Elizabeth Dundas Crichton was married to attorney and proprietor William Lambie (q.v.).

T71/867 St Thomas-in-the-East claim nos. 198 (Friendship) and 199; Patrick Charles Crichton was in Jamaica 02/06/1835 when he was served with a notice of counterclaim by Thomas Wilson of Portland.
