Biography

Counterclaimed unsuccessfully for the compensation for the enslaved people on Checker Hall in Barbados as legatee with his wife Judith Trent as legatees under the will dated 1816 of Hilary Rowe. Brother of John Constantine Trent and Constantine Estwick Trent (both of whom q.v.). His wife was a major beneficiary under the will [made in 1825 and proved in 1827] of her brother Harrison Walke Sober (q.v).

  1. Son of John Trent and Elizabeth Phipps. Lieut. 14th Light Dragoons. Married Judith Sober (1794-1871), daughter of Sampson Wood Sober, at St George Hanover Square 19/02/1818. Died 10/04/1846.

  2. In 1841 he was living at Cheltenham Gloucestershire 'aged 40' 'Ind[ependent means]', without his family (who are shown at Leamington Priors in the same census).

  3. Will of Francis Onslow Trent of Brighton [made in 1831] was proved 30/04/1846 with a codicil of 1845 when he was living in Dover. Under the will he left his property to his wife Judith.
