Partial beneficiary of the compensation paid to trustees on the Wood Hall estate in St Dorothy Jamaica after a claim was made on her behalf by 'testamentary guardians'.
Daughter of Alexander Bayley (whose will was proved 1832). Baptised 26/08/1818 though born the previous year. Married Charles Lyall of Barbados in Stapleton Gloucestershire 21/08/1845. They were mostly resident in Barbados in the 1850s, evidenced in the baptisms in St John of their children: Mary Annie (1848), Rosa Charlotte (1850), Alice Edith (1853), Charlotte Bayley (1855), Charles William Bayley (1856) and Emily Elizabeth (1858). Another daughter, Florence Agnes, was born and baptised in Brighton in 1852.
Not found in British censuses until 1871 when Charles Lyall, "Barbados Proprietor", born Brighton, was living at 17 Henrietta Street with Charlotte age 52, born Bristol, their children Rosa C., Florence A., Alice E., Charlotte B., Charles W. B. and Emily E., along with Elizabeth M. Bayley, "sister", age 51, born Jamaica, and two female servants. Death of Charlotte Augusta Lyall registered Q1 1880 Bath Somerset.
