Griffith. The award was made to Henry Thornhill and Thomas Went, upon trusts of the will of Wm. Griffith.
Julia Howard Griffith, born 16/04/1811 and baptised 27/07/1806 [sic - 1816] in St Lucy, Barbados, daughter of John Poyer Griffith and his wife Sarah Howard.
Marriage of Julia Howard Griffith, spinster of Russell Pl., daughter of J. P. (John Poyer) Griffith (q.v.) with James Bovell (q.v.) also given as of Russell Pl., son of John Bovell (q.v.), at St Pancras 31/08/1837, when John Poyer Poyer (q.v.) was among the witnesses.
Living at Denison Avenue, Toronto, in the census of 1861, with husband James and daughters Sarah Julia, age 22, born Ireland (currently on a visit to Barbados), Mary Emily Stokes, age 21, born Barbados, Alice James, age 19 [sic], born Barbados, and Laura Louisa Johnson age 11, born Canada.
She is shown in her husband's entry in the Candian Dictionary of National Biography of surviving him for 11 years after his death on Nevis in 1880.
