William Vizard

1774 - 15th Jan 1859

Claimant or beneficiary

Biography

Wm. Vizard, of 51 Lincoln's Inn Fields, counterclaimed unsuccessfully for compensation for Preference estate in Grenada as mortgagee. It is not known whether he was principal or possibly trustee for the mortgage, but in 1820 he appeared as trustee in an indenture concerning the Maxwell family's interest in estates and enslaved people in Antigua, suggesting that this was his role in the case of Preference as well.

  1. Presumably this is the William Vizard who was solicitor to Queen Caroline.
