William John Blake

Eldest son and heir of William Blake (q.v., 1774-1854) and his wife Mary Nash. MP for Newport 1837-1841. Lived at Danesbury, Hertfordshire. Brother-in-law of John Alexander Hankey and Henry Davidson (both q.v.).

Living with at 62 Portland Place in the census of 1851, age 45, "Barr[ister] not in practice", born Hartwell in Buckinghamshire, with his father William Blake (q.v.), sister Frances, sister-in-law Henrietta, a nephew, 5 male servants and 9 female servants.

The will of William John Blake late of Danesbury near Welwyn in the County of Hertford Esquire who died 15 September 1875 at Danesbury was proved at the Principal Registry by Henry Wollaston Blake of 8 Devonshire-plave Portland-place in the County of Middlesex the brother George Robert Marten of Marshalls Wick near St. Alban’s in the County of Herftord and Rodolph Alexander Hankey of 54 Warwick-square Pimlico in the County of Middlesex the nephew Esquires the executors. Effects under £140,000.
