Owner, with his half-brother Henry Lord Garrigues, of Yarmouth estate in Vere.
His wife Sarah Guy was the daugher of John Hudson Guy (1754-1816) and his wife Millicent nee Fletcher (1761-1843) and from a long-established Jamaican family. Born 19/02/1791, baptised 31/05/1795, married George Barriffe 21/12/1811 at Hayfield, Jamaica, died 02/01/1867.
Will of George Barriffe [formerly of St Thomas in the Vale Jamaica but now] of Southampton Row proved 02/08/1830. He made a number of bequests of £100 currency secured on one third of his pens Ivy and Pleasant Farm to children of Peter Garrigues; he left an annuity of £100 currency to Jane Frances Franklin of Jamaica and £170 p.a. for five years to her daughter Julia Franklin to be paid into the hands of her uncle Peter Francis Garrigues, secured on one-third of his moiety of the Yarmouth plantation. The estate itself he left to his wife Sarah.
