Owner of Kiltearn estate in Berbice in the 1818 registration (made by his brother Hugh Munro Robertson); the men were sons Rev. Harry Robertson of Kiltearn.
- Partner of Eliza, the daughter of Dolly Thomas, with whom he had a number of children.

Note most secondary sources give Gilbert Robertson as the father of Gilbert Robertson of Tasmania (1794-1851), but this Gilbert of Tasmania was in fact the son of the elder Gilbert's uncle George Robertson (1756-1799, q.v.).
