Biography

Sarah Haughton Binns (née Leigh) was baptised 11 July 1774, Hanover. She was the daughter of Samuel Egerton and Sarah Leigh. She married James K. Binns 01/09/1801 in Hanover and had three sons—James Kitelee, Edward, Samuel Leigh Heatley—between 1802 and 1809. She registered enslaved people as owner, 1817 to 1826, in Hanover. She was recorded as living in Lucea with her three sons in 1823 at the age of 45. She was alive when data was collected for the 1827 Jamaica Almanac, and had died by the time of the 1828 edition.
