1802 - ????
James Kitelee Binns was baptised 27/12/1802 in St James, Jamaica. He was the son of James K. Binns (q.v.) and Sarah Haughton Binns (née Leigh) (q.v.) “Keighly” was spelled, transcribed, and pronounced in wildly varying ways. In this baptism record the transcription has ‘Riteler’ for both father and son, and Haughton comes out as Houghton; the youngest brother seems eventually to have settled on Heatley. He was living in Lucea, Hanover in 1823 with his mother and two brothers. He registered 28 enslaved people in Hanover in 1829, then 23 in 1832, and claimed compensation after Emancipation.
