Probably the Robert Donaldson who had four children "by Elizabeth Knowles a white woman" baptised in Jamaica in 1794. The children - William, Robert, James and Frances James - had been born between 1784 and 1794. He was probably also the father of Shaw, "son of Elizabeth Knowles a white woman about 5 years old" who was baptised in Hanover in 1802.
Possibly the Robert Donaldson who contributed £4 15s to the University of Pennsylvania following Dr John Morgan's fundraising tour of the West Indies in 1772-1773.
