Resident slave-owner whose will [dated 21/12/1820] was entered 23/06/1821. Under the will he instructed the sale of his moiety of Catadupa and Mocho which he held with William Fairclough (q.v.), to fund the purchase of a separate plot of land that he held under the same title with William Fairclough to serve as a resting-place for his cattle bringing produce down from the York estate. He left legacies to his three reputed daughters and to their mother Mary Hilton. He instructed that York itself and the 60 acres to be purchased as its ancillary were to be retained for 10 years and then sold for the equal benefit of his three sisters and three natural daughters.
