Biography

Owner of the Cambridge estate in St James Jamaica, dying in Charlotte Street Fitzroy Square London in 1823 aged 54. Father of Philip Anglin Scarlett(q.v.) (b. 1800) and of Josephine Bonella Dare later Tremlett (q.v.).

  1. The will of Philip Anglin Scarlett was proved 20/04/1825. In the will he said he had encumbered the Cambridge estate with a mortgage to secure a debt he owed and to provide £500 p.a. to his children, and therefore had nothing more to leave them. If the debt were repaid he provided that his son Philip Anglin Scarlett could buy his sisters out of their entitlement to the annuity for £1000 each.
