Inherited Cranbrook and Blenheim estates in St Ann, Jamaica, from his brother Aaron Moffatt. Died intestate, leaving a wife Sarah and daughter Elizabeth, wife of Rev. Drake Hollingbery, in 1807. Described as "of London" in the will of his brother Aaron (written in 1795). Possibly the John Moffatt Esquire who was buried in Marylebone, London, in January 1807.
