1776 - 1847
Andrew Moffatt Mills was the son of Sir Thomas Mills and Elizabeth Moffatt, and the heir of his maternal grandfather Andrew Moffatt, who had lent money to his (Andrew's) brother, Aaron Moffatt (q.v.), owner of estates and enslaved people in Jamaica. The debt was at stake in a series of Chancery suits into which the compensation money was paid for the enslaved people on the Blenheim and Cranbrook estates in Jamaica.
