Biography
- John was the first son of Sir John Boyd 2nd Bart. (q.v.) and Margaret Boyd (née Harley).
- On 22 Sept. 1818 he married Harriett, the second daughter of the late Hugh Boyd, of Bally Castle, co. Antrim, Esq. They had three children: John-Augustus-Hugh, born on 30 July 1819, Frederick, born on 12 Aug. 1820, and Henrieta, born in Jan. 1825
