1791 - ????
Son of Rev. James Lindsey of St John's Antigua and Elizabeth Hay, brother of William Chacon Lindsey (q.v.) He registered 120 enslaved people on an unnamed estate now inferred to be Mount Pleasant in his own name in 1821, of whom 116 had been purchased from Frank Willock since the previous registration.
In 1851 John Lindsey aged 60 born Antigua Commander RN half-pay was living at 45 Guildford Street in the household of his son John B. Lindsey 'dentist' aged 26 born Milverton Somerset, with his (Captain Lindsey's) daughter Sarah 24 born Antigua and son William, aged 13 born Wellington Somerset. Also in the household was Anne Gilliard aged 67 widow annuitant born St Kitts, and a female servant.
In 1861 John Lindesy [sic] Captain Royal Navy born Antigua aged 70 was head of household at 2 Milbourne Grove, Kensington with wife Leonora, daughters Sarah, Dorothy and Elizabeth (the latter two born Yorkshire and Kent respectively), two young men who were boarders and a female servant.
