Biography
Son of Josiah Martin (d. 1778) and his second wife Mary Yeamans of Antigua. Owner of an estate tentatively identified as Martin's on Antigua, dying in London in 1824.
- Will of William Martin of King Street [Bryanstone Square] Middlesex proved 03/06/1824. In the will he identified his brothers Dr Samuel Martin and Charles Martin (both deceased), his nephew James Syret and his cousin Richard Burgh Byam. He left his real and personal estate in Antigua as to 1/4 to his niece Sarah Martin for life and then to the children of his sister Rachael Banister they taking the name of Martin; 1/4 to his niece Alice McNeill for life and then similarly to the children of Rachael Banister; and half the estate directly to the same children with the same proviso. He also left a number of monetary legacies to family and friends.
