Howard Griffith as attorney

Biography

There are were at least two and possibly more men called Howard Griffith in Barbados in the early 19th century: Howard Griffith senior (d. c. 1829), Howard Griffith jun. (d. between 1835 and 1840) and possibly a third man who was still alive in 1837. The records do not always allow precise identification, but Howard Griffith jun. was probably the owner of Bright Hall from 1817. The ownership of that estate has been only tentatively pieced together. The birth of a Howard Griffith in 1786, the son of Howard and Rebecca Griffith, was presumably Howard Griffith jun. and the son of Howard Griffith sen.

This entry reflects the role of 'Howard Griffith' as attorney on Henleys and in an unknown capacity in a registration in St Lucy.
