Likely the Oswald Brode, son of Dr Richard Brodie and his wife Jane, born 16/12/1781 and baptised in Trelawny, Jamaica, 10/05/1785. Married Mary Ann Palmer Knowles in Trelawny 02/06/1810.
Sworn affidavit dated 28/10/1836 from Elizabeth Brodie, now of York Street, Portman Square, London, formerly of St Ann's Jamaica: her brother Oswald Brodie died circa 1818 leaving two minor daughters Elizabeth (now Elizabeth Turner) and Louisa Brodie, of age on 11/12/1836.
