Joseph Williams

Biography

Joseph Williams, eldest son of Rowland Williams (owner of Carawina), born 28/09/1702, died 05/06/1732 aged 30 and buried at Carawina. His son, also called Joseph, was alive in 1757 when he was a party to the Chancery case Williams v. Beecher concerning payment of a legacy in his grandfather's will.

Joseph Williams Esq. deceased listed in 1759 Accounts Produce as former owner of Carawina [1] (Westmoreland, Jamaica). This is probably Joseph senior but may be Joseph junior.

Possibly the Joseph Williams, deceased who was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 695 acres of land in St Ann and 163 acres in either St John or St James, total 858 acres.
