???? - 1827
Slave-owner on Nevis, apparently resident. Son of George Forbes and Mary Forbes nee Clarke.
George Clarke Forbes married Jane Smithson at St Giles in the Fields, Holborn June 1801. It was Jane Forbes (q.v.) who received compensation for the estate.
When he died in 1827, he was the Solicitor-General of the Island of Nevis. He had previously been the Attorney-General of Tortola, according to the testimony of John Dougan, a navy agent who was in Tortola in 1806-8. In testimony given during the same trial, a case of forgery at the Old Bailey in 1816, the London merchant Thomas Latham (q.v.) testified that he had 'very large concerns' both with George Clarke Forbes and his father.
