Born in St Michael, Barbados and died on the island. The son of William Eversley (1720–1752) & Mary (Mairo) Jenkins (1725–?), he married Sarah Lucas (1753-?) 26 August 1774 in St Michael. They had 6 children: Edmund Jordan (1775–1859), William (1777–1834), Nathan Lucas (1779–1833), Benjamin Crofts (1781–?), John Chase (1786–1853) and Mary Ann (1797–?). (q.v. in all cases.)

Born into slavery in Carriacou, Grenada, Malvina Wells became a lady's maid in Edinburgh and a trusted family friend to her employers.
