Biography

Owner of Windsor Castle estate and the enslaved people on it, which had belonged to her husband's uncle Samuel Buckmaster (q.v.).

  1. Will of Isabella Buckmaster widow of Sloane Street [made in 1833] proved 23/06/1834. In the will she left Windsor Castle and the enslaved people on it in trust to secure annuities of: £200 p.a. to her daughter Juliana Isabella Buckmaster; £100 p.a. to her daughter Harriott Ellis widow; £50 p.a. to her daughter Mary Ann Henley wife of John Walter Henley; and £50 p.a. to her brother William Mingay of Hassall Sandbach in Chester. The estate was left to her daughter Juliana Isabella Buckmaster, then to her grandson Frederick Adam Ellis and then her other grandson Edward Waterloo Ellis.
