Brother and heir of William Fowle of St James Jamaica, and father of William Fowle of Chute. In a series of codicils to his will of 1797 and 1802 he used his inheritance of 'slave-property' from his brother to secure annuities of £50 p.a. each to his two daughters and £20 p.a to his grand-daughter on his moiety of the Wiltshire estate, having settled the other moiety on his son William Fowle [of Chute].
