Francis Bell Grant

Almost certainly Rev. Francis Bell Grant, 'clergyman of Barbados and then St Peter's Hammersmith', whose diaries are in the Bodleian. He had reportedly been Rector of Christ Church Barbados 1859-69 after a period in Antigua, where again reportedly he built St Peter's Anglican Church c.1842.

1. Rev. Francis Bell Grant widower of 65 Earl's Court Road married Catherine Elizabeth Large spinster of 11 St Peter's Square at St Peter's Hammersmith 10/02/1880.

Brandow, Genealogies p. 260 shows dates in Barbados of 1859-69, while the Bodleian catalogues suggests 1867 and 1870-74 for his Barbados diaries. His relationship to St Peter's Church in Hammersmith remains unclear to LBS. The catalogue entry shows him as 'fl. 1867-1874 Reverend of St Peter's Hammersmith'. A local history of the church however shows G.H.
